Vision and Mission

Resources are important for the growth of any nation. Out of all resources that exist, the human resource is undoubtedly the most important one. The best way to exploit human resources is through education, with Science and Engineering higher education being at the forefront in importance. According to UNESCO statistics, the current tertiary enrolment rate across Africa stands at just over 12% (2019). And among them, less than 25% are in STEM fields. Added to all of these, most Engineering learning in African Universities is theoretical due to the often high cost of laboratory equipment.

At this junction, DAUST comes in to provide an alternative and a solution with a goal to educate Africa's future world-class Engineers, Scientists and Innovators. While doing so, DAUST aims to also have a positive impact in its immediate environment and the African community at large though applied research and extension programs.
